This deadly creature has its origins on Persian mythology, introduced to greek mythology by Ctesias, persian king personal medic. Pliny the elder included this beast as a real beast on his encyclopedic, later Aelian (Claudius Aelianus) also included on his books than later made the base of the european bestiary text on medieval times. At medieval age the Manticore represented the encarnation of evil.
