Morgane the Fairy (or Morgan le Fay) is one of the main characters in the Arthurian myths, unequaled enchanteress and Merlin's disciple. She is Arthur's half sister but also his best enemy, and the guardian of the ancient Celtic religion, villain that threatens King Arthur and christianism for some, feminist and environmental activist, by her relationship with the forest for others.
The legend says that she was once in love with the young knight Guyomac'h, who told her he loved her back. But on day in the forest, she came by Guyomac'h about to kiss another woman. Furious, she clapped her hands together and lightning stroke the two lovers. It is there, on the side of this valley, that Morgane created one of her biggest enchantements: The Valley of No Return. Seeing as Guyomac'h had been unfaithful to her, she decided to imprison, here, in this valley, any lover who wasn't faithful to their promised one. [End of the legend in the comments]

[End of the legend] For years an years many people (mostly men) have been trapped in this Valley like in a maze. They did not lack a thing, but they were still Morgane's prisoners. But one day, near the Valley of No Return, Sir Lancelot, Knight of the Round Table, came by a young woman crying. She told Lancelot that her lover had been trapped in there, and that she was ready to forgive him if he came back. So Lancelot decided to go to the Valley of No Return and free the men trapped in there. As his love for queen Gwynever (or Guenevere) was faithful, he was able to get inside the Valley and to get out of it, thus freeing all of Morgane's prisoners.
Morgane is also the mother of Mordred, who she had with her half brother King Arthur while they did not know who was the other. Mordred is the one who killed King Arthur at the battle of Kamm-Lann, but Morgane tooked Arthur body and brought him to Avalon, the land of the dead in the Arthurian Legends.
