Just a pet....

Skipping across worlds like stepping stones, a Helistri Dominextra wandered the cosmos to clear her thoughts. On her final jump, she heard voices—crude, foreign. Curious, she followed the sound, cresting an outcrop to find a unit of Forlorn Scouts. Mistaking her ethereal grace for fragility, they leered and closed in. One sneered, “Hey there, little one… are you lost?”

With a smirk, she played along. “Well… kinda. I’m looking for my pet. He’s lost. Have you seen him?”

They laughed, circling her with ill intent. But her voice changed—firm, resonant. “Have you seen my pet? He’s seen you…”

The fog behind them stirred. Then thundered. A titan emerged—her companion, a cosmic predator. Panic struck, but it was too late. The Forlorn were shattered, flung like ragdolls. She walked on, serenity restored.
