A Japanese Akita Inu dog, Hachiko is a prime example of loyalty and is honored in Japan.
Born in 1923, he was adopted by Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor at the Tokyo Imperial University and brought to Tokyo to live. Hachiko would meet his man when he came home every night. This continued until 1925 when Ueno died at work. From than until his death in 1935, Hachiko would return to Shibuya Station every day to await his master's return.
During his lifetime, he was held up in Japanese culture as an example of loyalty and fidelity. Since his death, he continues to be remembered worldwide.

One of the most heart-wrenching stories I’ve read and also watched. My Bear is just as close. Beautiful and full 0f love. 😢
