Arthur Rimbaud died in November 1891 in a hospital in Marseille. When he was shipped home from Africa, he was unable to walk and was in such pain that he decided to stay in Marseille, which was closer than Paris.
At this time, after nearly twenty years, Rimbaud and Verlaine could have met, but they missed this because Verlaine was also not healthy and because they had grown emotionally distant from each other during the years of absence.
Rimbaud died of pneumonia at the age of 37, after his left leg had been amputated due to bone cancer.
