The Tavern Meeting (Q2 Story Part 1)

“Oh no!” Carina gasps, her knapsack spilling onto the tavern floor. Her friends warned her about packing too much, but she shoved their worries aside, not wishing to be ill-prepared for her adventures.

A figure crouches nearby, pint in hand, and grunts. “Seems you have some troubles, lass.”

Carina shoots a harried glance toward the dwarf. This is surely a man who has seen his share of adventures.

“I didn’t know what I needed for the quest, so I…”

“Quest?” The dwarf asks, eyes lighting with understanding as Carina points toward a flier pinned to the tavern announcement board. “Ah, of course. You packed everything you could, then?”

Face flushing with embarrassment, Carina nods, hurriedly shoving items into the knapsack. She bites back a sigh. This is a terrible start to her first adventure.

The dwarf taps her arm and points at a nearby pair of tables. “It’ll be easier to organize over there. Here, I’ll help you move it, lass. By the way, the name’s Bekmar.”
