Created for the Anything Star Trek but TOS and TNG challenge
Bill Mumy had been lobbying to bring closure to Lost in Space, the original series, he starred in as Will Robinson, for many decades. When his pitch of doing some final episode did not work out, he seemed to succeed eventually when Star Trek's Voyager encountered the Borg in the Delta Quadrant. It was indirectly revealed that the Robinsons got assimilated by the Borg. By using all the actors as Borg drones to be killed at first encounter by Janeway, save "Will Robinson", or rather Eight of Nine. Thus, they weren't lost in space anymore, but had found their home.

This image shows a figure in a Borg uniform illuminated by green lights. The stark lighting and costume details create a futuristic, and slightly ominous, atmosphere.

Lol, I had to Google as I thought "no wait, that didn't happen did it?" 🤔😄 Also relearned Bill Mumy co-wrote "Fish Heads," which I think I knew but had forgotten 😆
2: The reality behind this: Bill Mumy really lobbied and pitched his vision of bringig closure to Lost in Space and of course worked simultaneously on B5. Everything else I made up for this challenge.
1: However, Bill Mumy had just landed a major role on Babylon 5 as the Minbari Lennier. Voyager was supposed to be a guest starring role for him, only. The producers wished to turn that character into a major one, replacing the departed Kes. They found the drama intriguiging of Eight of Nine becoming human again, with his captain having killed all of this family and friends, when they were Borg, plus the audience knowing and loving them all from another series. But in the end, Bill Mumy stayed on Babylon 5. And the first episode of this season had to be reshot eventually. This is also the real reason, Kate Mulgrew had a beef with Jeri Ryan playing Seven of Nine instead: That replacement character stole much of the drama of her own character she would have had with Eight of Nine.
6th place out of 14. And there was no downvoting in this challenge!
Thanks everyone for playing this week Trek Tuesday. It seems this team was a bit less popular. Congrats to IndiCat and Yan de Tod for their impressive Georgiou ex aequo in first place and third place. I really liked everything all of you proposed!
Next week, prepare for something different. It will be rather a type of character than a specific series or period of Trek. Until then, live long and prosper!
