DND Series : Aranea (Monster)

An Aranea is an intelligent, shapechanging spider known for its magical abilities. In its natural form, it appears as a large spider with a humpbacked body and venomous fangs, weighing about 150 pounds. It also possesses small human-like arms below its mandibles. Araneas can change shape into a Medium humanoid or a spider-humanoid hybrid, using their forms to blend into various environments and conduct research on magic. They inhabit temperate forests and often form small colonies. Araneas prefer using webs and spells in combat, avoiding physical confrontation when possible, and they are capable of subduing enemies to hold for ransom​
