Raven's lab shook as colors bent & swirled while the serum coursed through her veins. Her mind overtaken by the memories of ancient rituals, whispered incantations, & the weight of her tattoos, now fuercefully glowing. There was a sudden burst of a rent, and through it slithered one shadowy figure, its eyes agleam with malevolent realization.
Guardian of the past, now you are awake, it whispered, & in an instance, sudden & unintended, Raven's heart raced.
Who are you? she demanded with this suddenly awakened courage.
I am the consequence of your actions, it replied in a voice that sounded like a thunderstorm.
As the new energy ran through her, Raven steadied herself. I am not a pawn, she exclaimed, calling to all of the energies around her.
The struggle for her fate had begun, & she was determined to mold it.
