Willem and NJ

Kay's school friends Willem and NJ, who despite totally looking it are NOT siblings. Also, do NOT call NJ "Nancy Jane" in her presence unless you want to be fed your own tail.

Willem and NJ played with Kay when everyone else was too nervous to try to make friends with a real prince. The trio bonded instantly over being the oldest in their class. Indeed, Wil picked up on Kay's crippling shyness right off the bat, having suffered it so bad himself that this is his second year of Kindergarten.

As for NJ, she started school late, as her parents traveled for research even after she was born. She was too young to remember most of those trips, but her folks keep an ample scrapbook, and NJ literally puts pins in the places she wants to visit when she's bigger.
