She Returned in a Dream. Or Maybe the Ocean Lied for Him.

Part 2:

That night, he dreamed.

And there she was rising from the water as if the ocean missed her too.

She was smiling. And this time, so was he.

He ran to her, arms shaking. Heart loud. He almost said her name but realized he never knew it.

Only the way she looked at him, like he had never been forgotten.

She held him again. And it felt exactly like before. No fear. No cold. Just warmth. And the kind of joy that breaks you.

He woke up with sand in his hands.

Was it a dream?

Or did the ocean bring her back one last time to say what neither of them could?

He never said.

But the tide came in slow that morning. And for the first time in a long time he didn’t feel alone.

I think she came back. But maybe the ocean just knew I needed her to. —The Dreamkeeper
