Irish Ballybog

The Ballybog is a grotesque, swamp-dwelling fey from Irish and Scottish folklore. Short, bloated, and caked in mud, it has a large misshapen head, sunken eyes, and little to no visible limbs. These solitary creatures lurk in bogs and marshes, acting as eerie guardians of the wetlands. Though not overtly malicious, they are known to mislead travelers or silently watch from the murky depths. More primal than cunning, the Ballybog embodies the eerie, treacherous nature of the bog itself.
