Specifically, one boy: Trevor McAllen.

To say I hated Trevor was an understatement. He was the devil as far as I was concerned.

When I was in First Grade, I had brought my favorite toy stuffed turtle for Show & Tell. On the bus ride to school, Trevor asked to see it and I reluctantly agreed, hoping we could be friends.

He threw it out the window of the moving bus.

I remember it was raining that day. I could only watch in horror as my turtle fell into a puddle and was run over by the cars behinds us. I tried not to cry as he laughed about it with his friends. I remember sitting there quietly, unable to find the words to express myself as the tears finally broke through.

Even now that we were older, he'd never apologized for it. He was still the same jerk, always having a laugh at other people's expense...

So when Nikki took a liking to him, for whatever reason, it hurt just that much more.
