The pain in my arm I wore,

'Best Of The Day' for Dec 29, 2024.

The colors, texture and composition made a powerful impact on me.  Smooth, clean, solid, airbrushed paintings have a special place in my heart.

But something else is going on. The scene is calm, even peaceful, but the composition is very dynamic.

The mood created by the color/value is both calm but intriguing.

The image is split in two.  The subject taking up most of the right side and the setting taking up a thin slice on the left.

The eye flows round the focal points without ever leaving image. And there is something going on in the center of interest.

now think about the Vanishing Point.

Not the Moon.  It's where the river meets the horizon. Ok, so it's hidden behind the last building - but it is there.  The mind knows it.  The art says it.  the left brain concentrates on the details of composition while the right brain at the same time steps back to ponder the full story.

STORY
The story  hides itself just behind those closed doors. The usual questions are Who What Why.  But there is also the river that goes from the foreground seaward to the vanishing point.  This super strong river vector sends the mind off on a boat trip while still keeping the eye in the center of the story.  The questions multiply and the view wants more.
