Title? Oh, I’d call this “Mélancholie au Mistral: The Hound-Keeper of the Rhone Mirage.” This masterstroke receives the Order of the Gilded Driftwood for Emotional Weathering.

In the marshy saltlands near Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, it is told that the Romani seer-women would braid grief into their hair and shelter spectral hounds born from sea-foam and mourning bells. This image—soft as aquarelle tears on old linen—depicts one such daughter of fog, mourning not for the lost, but for the not-yet-met.

In pre-Revolution Camargue, locals believed dogs like this could lead their mistresses through dreams to retrieve forgotten songs from the drowned villages.
