First taste of the Cape

"We drove past the deli and started the long drive up the slope through a profusion of protea bushes. The road turned sharply to the left, leaving a few hundred metres of ascent to an austere, grey concrete structure. It didn't look at all like the magnificent edifice we'd seen from below. "The walls on our left were almost entirely glass, affording a breathtaking panorama of the Hottentots Holland mountains and False Bay. If it hadn't been for the haze, we would probably have been able to see Cape Point through more windows above the fermentation tanks. Dwarfed as it was by the Helderberg, I'd never have believed this little hill could provide such a vantage.
