They lamp mushrooms are a groupe of unrelated species of fungus that have converged on producing light. The amber elf light is a parasite that insects living trees and spreads it's spores buy attracting moths to it's glowing bell. They are also used by elves and a low maintaience light sorse across the continent as the do not require fuel to stay lit.
