Value : Argents are the second most valuable unit of currency in Nyrin but are the most used and thus the most abundant. Each argent is worth one-tenth of an aurum or ten cupras.
Composition : Each argent is minted in Stirling Silver, as pure silver was found to be too soft to be used reliably as a form of currency. Also, it was found that pure silver was prone to reacting with different inert chemicals found throughout Nyrin, thus forming sulfide compounds on the surface of the pure silver coin. This caused the coins to degrade in clarity faster than desired. Stirling Silver was implemented to remedy this as well as the hardness. Below is the compositional breakdown of each argent currently in circulation.
