𐤄 hē stands for the glottal fricative [h]. Originally, the character was named hillul with the meaning praise, jubilation or, as in the Egyptian template, rejoice. Later the picture was reinterpreted as hē for window. It is ה in Hebrew and ه in Arabic. In Fidäl, the letter ሀ is derived from it, it became the vowel E in the Greek script family, with the Cyrillic derivatives Ё and Э.
