Stay away from my friend, y'hear?

This is Thomas, and Rex, his cat. They live in an old orphanage that survived the Great Sickness in the Before-Time. He's second generation so he's pretty good at surviving. Cats are very important to their clan because they keep the rats and other things away from the food stores, and can hunt their own food too. They take their cats out with them on patrols because the cats often catch rats, and they are trained to give them to their keepers, because when there's nothing else to eat, rats can be pretty tasty, and they share it with the cat. Also the cats are trained to alert their keepers to sounds and smells that the humans won't notice. The cats are pretty smart and they train them from kittens. They sleep with them at night sometimes when its very cold, and each child has a special cat they are best friends with. (Interesting note: you can specify a colour tint to the sky/environs in GPT, makes a difference to the image.)
