My Heart aches efforts

My heart aches for you, my dear friend, As I see you struggle and descend, Into the depths of darkness and pain, I wish I could take it all away, in vain.

I try to be there, to lend an ear, To offer comfort, and wipe away your tear, But sometimes it feels like I'm failing, As your sadness persists, unrelenting.

I know it's not your fault, my dear, That depression has taken hold, so severe, But it's hard to watch you suffer so, And feel helpless, as I see you low.

I promise to keep trying, to be here, To offer my love, and never disappear, Even though my efforts may not be effective, I'll stand by you, in every way, protective.

Know that you're not alone, my friend, I'll be here, until the very end, To remind you of your worth, and strength, And to help you find your way, at any length.
