The next morning, they set off before dawn. After traveling west for about two and a half hours, the terrain began to rise slightly, and they were relieved to finally be on drier ground. Everything was wet or at least damp—their clothes, their fur, even the few supplies they had left. As they entered a more populated area, they soon came upon a village that was just waking up. They stayed on the farmland, keeping a wide distance from the town to avoid drawing any attention to themselves.
