Session Two

David: Be straightforward with me Ashe.

Ashe: You were part of a large family, yes? For all your success you still just feel like one more mouth to feed.

(David’s expression grows sour, and ashamed)

Ashe: You do your best to not make your own children feel the same way. But does it work? You don’t understand yourself, your unimaginable IQ not even you can piece together. Most importantly you are petrified of being wrong. Because if you can be proven wrong even once, you lose your credibility.

David: How do you know this, Ashe?

Ashe: it’s written all over you. Your clothes, cadence, voice, actions, even your handwriting. Rushed and almost sloppy, but still brilliant. David you can’t blame anyone for any of this, least of all yourself.

David: I’m not sure what you’re saying.

Ashe: Yes, you are. You just can’t admit it. You are a good man, David. You just are in a very complex situation, and you want to be in control, but you aren’t. And that’s okay.
