WfR98: Bits and Pieces

Commander D'Iræ's mind raced ahead of the pirate's summary of information she already knew, fitting together the timeline, pieces, and mycelial knowledge that indicated Nahreev was at the center of everything. There was nothing untoward about it; if anything, she'd worked incredibly hard to get disparate parties to talk at the same table, a process Nahreev obviously hoped Amara could accomplish. But the timeline didn't make sense. She'd known Nahreev for half a day, not three. Three days before now, Molly knew she was here, but gave no indication she'd spoken with Nahreev until Amara's second day at the earliest. And then the pervasive feeling that Molly was still nearby.

Amara rose to greet the Clan head, Hiri Tonotak, and set the jumble of thought aside. The man bowed, grinned, and took the open seat in the makeshift lounge with a nod at his underling.

"Let me tell you what you don't know, Commander," Hiri said.
