Otto Reinhold Jacobi

Otto Reinhold Jacobi (1812 – 1901) was a Prussian landscape and genre painter, who emigrated to Canada as an adult. In Prussia and Nassau, he painted for European royalty and was at some point the court painter to the Duchess of Nassau. In Canada, he was renowned for his landscape paintings that vividly captured the North American wilderness. Jacobi's art primarily belongs to the Romanticism movement, known for its emphasis on emotion and nature's sublime beauty. His technique often involved oil on canvas, capturing the dynamic and dramatic atmospheres of his scenes.
