In his book “No Mercy: A Journey to the Heart of the Congo,” author (and gonzo naturalist) Redmond O’Hanlon writes of a night during which he smoked ganja and eventually had a conversation with the spirit Samalé. I created this following (as best I could) O’Hanlon’s description of the encounter.
