Helena made a cup of her special relaxing tea that she had crafted for use after stressful missions. She found a piece of southern style cornbread, some honey and jam, a bowl of fruit loops and a power bar. She began to eat and pray Lauds. All the while she felt sad. Bjornson entered the refectory and started to make coffee. He noticed Helena at the table looking sad.
“Good morning, Sister. Why the long face?” he asked with a concern in his voice.
“Something that Maerwynn asked me last night. I couldn't answer her. She could see my past you know, from the Stones. I just couldn't forgive myself for what I did. Yet the man I killed in my Rogue NID days forgave me right before he died. Yet I didn't deserve it,” Helena replied.

Bjornson smiled. “Have you heard the story of Maria Goretti?” Helena nodded. “Chaplin Sticha told us once that she forgave her assailant right before she died. She was trying to imitate Jesus when he died on the cross. Perhaps this guy was trying to imitate our Lord.”
It's possible,” Sister Helena replied. “But I feel so sad and awful. I prayed for God to heal me last night but then I had a nightmare.”
Bjornson didn't say anything.
He simply opened his arms.
Sister Helena hesitated only for a moment before leaning into him. It wasn't romantic or dramatic.
It was weight melting strength, sorrow pressed into solid compassion.
He wrapped his massive arms around her, holding her like something precious and fragile. His hand rested lightly against the back of her head. He hugged her in a sisterly way.

Like the blend of action and human drama in the story, making the characters more real
