African Grey Parrhinoceros [see gallery]

A fusion of the endangered African grey parrot and critically endangered white rhinoceros both of whose natural habitats almost merge in the Congo basin area of equatorial Africa.

The last known northern white rhinoceros were seen in 2005 in the DRC but may now be completely exinct in the wild as none were sighted after 2008.

The grey parrot is known for its vibrant red inner tail feathers and favours the dense forests of the region from Kenya to the western coast. Populations are dwindling in the wild though the pet trade has kept them alive and in captivity they can live up to 40 years.
