Ohwow! the top of the hill makes one want to see Muizenberg and then all the way to The Strand/Somerset because of that direction, however the scene below has some Noordhoek / Kommetjie look to it and that would also be correct in terms of the sun's position so now I just have to imagine that the hill in the foreground is not so steep. Good atmosphere to this

[Total time: 1 hour 24 minutes]  I'd made it to the peak of Ou Kaapse Weg in good time to take a decent breather before calling John and Chris.  From there it would be a steep descent and an easy ride home through Constantia and past Kirstenbosch.  Seven thirty on a Sunday morning was our regular slot for family calls.  I carried the bike a little way off the road to avoid the glare reflecting from Sandvlei, and found a comfortable rock to bask in the morning sunshine.  I had plenty of time for a good chat.
