Um, they said minimalism

I am obliged to observe that this piece has boldly attempted minimalism and then invited every cousin, uncle, and passing stranger to move in. There is no lack of enthusiasm here—only of restraint. The canvas appears to have suffered from an excess of good ideas, all speaking at once. Minimalism, like silence, is most effective when it resists the temptation to explain itself so thoroughly.
