The sun rose and final preparations were made for the wedding. Snow fell in gentle quietude, blanketing the shining palace and the surrounding countryside in purest white, refracting the sunlight in diaphanous sparkling blazes.
Aatush eschewed her simple bridal gown and veil for her armor, with the aid of Lis and Mengara. Hyresu wore his ceremonial armor and had Motoman and Baldris as his seconds. He stood silently waiting for Guniya, whom would perform the ceremony, hours before the scheduled time.
Ferlamund, King of Almecca, would not attend, sending his priest Foswe Amanyte in his stead, alongside Flyutra Grenec.
Graeyne Pentrakos, Senior Sentinel Knight of the Scintillating Spire, lead an honor guard that would stand guard over the proceedings and poor citizens, beggars and orphans were also invited, as is tradition, to be given alms and offered homes and positions in the households of wealthy Almeccan lords in attendance.
As the sun approached its zenith, Aatush emerged.
