Defender of the Earth

We thought that Earth would be small, weak, and easy to conquer.

We were wrong.

In another time, we might have triumphed, but on Earth, it is the Age of Heroes.

Their mightiest champion was waiting for us. Our mighty fleets and superweapons did not faze her in the slightest.

She smiled at us with unyielding confidence. We were warned that this world was under her protection, and that we should turn back or be destroyed.

We heard of a survivor of Krypton who ascended to godhood under a yellow sun. He was raised as a human and adopted their merciful nature.

This one is different. She remembers Krypton. She saw it die. No more worlds will share the fate of her dead home.

We underestimate her. We open fire.

We cling to the debris of our once-mighty fleet.

There is no sound in space.

No one hears us die.

The Earth is safe.
