Hyun-ah Journal Entry #10:
Today, Little Alex walked the length of the Champs-Élysées not just as a visitor, but as a symbol of something far greater—of peace restored, and futures reborn. With every step beneath the waving flags and sun-warmed stones, she carried quiet courage, the kind that speaks without words. Not everyone noticed, but I did: how she helped a grieving widow find her son’s name in the returning regiment, how she stopped to listen—truly listen—to the old veteran who hadn’t smiled in years.
There’s a quiet light in the way she moves through this newly freed city—like she’s mending its soul with each gentle step. Hope isn’t always loud; sometimes, it wears a ribbon and walks softly through a place relearning how to dream.
And though my legs ache and my heart’s tired from chasing after her, I’d follow her through every chapter of history if it meant seeing the world slowly become whole again.
This looks brighter than the ominous one earlier. To participate in the joy of victory is what Little Alex is destined for.
