Fern Coppedge

Fern Coppedge (Fern Isabel Coppedge, née Kuns; 1883 – 1951) was a painter from the USA. She is known for her distinctive, colourful countryside landscapes of the USA state of Pennsylvania and its historic structures, particularly barns and houses during winter. A member of the Pennsylvania Impressionism, Coppedge is celebrated for her bold use of colour and light, often painting en plein air to capture the nuances of seasonal changes. Her work is characterised by a vibrant palette and a somewhat Impressionistic style that brought warmth and vivacity to snowy scenes and autumnal views, making her one of the few prominent women in the early 20th-century USA art scene.
