Thank you to everyone who took part in the first of our cops and detective challenge. Every entry was magnificent, I was very surprised by the quality and accuracy of them all. A special congratulations to AnicetusCer, in 1st place and Dave in runner up. Quite coincidentally both entries were of Columbo.

The Sweeney was a British crime drama television series that aired from 1975 to 1978, focused on two detectives in the Flying Squad, a branch of the Metropolitan Police Service specializing in armed robbery and violent crime in London.

The series was known for its gritty realism, fast-paced action, and portrayal of a tougher style of policing than was typically shown on British television at the time. It became very popular and influential, helping to define the British police drama genre.

Regan is a hard drinking, heavy smoker copper, the leader of the Flying Squad team featured in the series. He's tough, dedicated, uncompromising but with a sharp wit. No nonsense and prone to cut corners.
