The legend of the Ys city, Breton myths.
Ys is a city. But Ys is also an island. Ys is a city build on the water in the Douarnenez bay in Brittany. 
Wealthiest city of its time, thanks to King Gradlon and his daughter Dahut, people from all around the world would visit it. But every great empire has its doom. Dahut drew the ire of Saint Gwénolé. She had many lovers, to the Saint's great displeasure. One day, he disguised himself in a wealthy prince form a far away country. They danced all day together and they declared their love to each other all evening. During the night, as a proof to her love for him, Saint Gwénolé asked her to give him the keys to Ys gates, that would close during the high tides, that King Gradlon wore day and knight around the neck. When Dahut gave him, he went to open the gates. The tide was high and a great storm was raging outside of the gates. Once opened, huge sea waves started to flood the city.
