on his way home, the traffic lights in the middle of the intersection begin to act strangely. it starts off steady, red-yellow-green-yellow-red, which he didn’t think about it much as it might be a defect. but gradually, it speeds up, like its putting a light show.

he stops on his tracks, watching the strange traffic lights pulse a pattern he once ignored much of his daily life. what is it something abt it that causes to act strangely?

The humans, once numbered in the billions, have provided a tasty sustenance for the crew, which is why they were bred on earth to begin with over a million years ago. Human colonies dotted the universe like drive thru restaurants, are harvested, leaving a small batch to repopulate. The ship had but two left. The captain eyed them greedily.
