Savannah grinned, popping up beside him. "Don't underestimate a Carolina girl," she yelled back, catching her own wave. They raced neck and neck, spray dancing between them.
Suddenly, a monstrous wave loomed. John whooped, diving deep as it crashed, emerging breathless, searching for Savannah.
