There's an interesting story behind the song "This Ole House"! The song was written by Stuart Hamblen in 1954. According to Hamblen, he and actor John Wayne were on a hunting expedition in the Sierra Nevada mountains when they came across an old prospector's cabin. Inside, they found the body of the cabin's owner, with his loyal dog still guarding the place.  This poignant scene inspired Hamblen to write "This Ole House," which uses the metaphor of a house to reflect on the man's readiness to leave this world and join the saints in heaven. 20/38   3.2/5
