The Ophoffer Lamp (STORY ALERT-SEE DESCRIPTION FOR STORY)

The way all the gaslamps on Seder Street used to look, they were works of art. But once the neighborhood began to deteriorate, and people stopped taking pride in their place in the world, then the DarkStreet Gang moved in. Gradually the beautiful old gaslamps were smashed, till this was the only one left. And it was guarded by an old man. Drelnen Ophoffer. The gangs showed up to destroy the final lamp, and he fought them back, giving his life in the process. But his sacrifice spurred his neighbors on to reisist the DarkStreet gang and the citizens rose up, and when DarkStreet came calling the next night, they didn't know what hit them. To this day the Battle of Seder Street is spoken of in legend, and the lone lamp, the Ophoffer Lamp, still stands.
