Here’s my hero, covered in the detritus of battle, scarred and bloody but still stoic and standing strong. Definitely swoon-worthy, but more than that, worthy of admiration and as noted before in other portraits, a leader that men will follow.

If the title had not been used elsewhere, it would have been called 'The Glory That Was Rome' with a wee bit of irony rolled in there.

Yes, *bloodied yet unbowed.* If one survives battles such as he was evidently through one likely grows into a leader others will follow .. if solely for self-preservation.

But, yeah .. I can see your attraction.  :-)
