Some wisdom I would like to share from the lessons I've learned as a dog owner:

1. Look up behaviours, energy levels a for the breed you are considering on adopting or buying. TRUST ME. We learned the hard way. We got a wild child that turned out almost twice the weight we expected. Working dogs, need work. 

2. Nonverbal Communication. Dogs communicate through body language, facial expressions, and energy, helping them become more attuned to nonverbal cues in relationships. My girl accidentally become my emotional support animal which she wasn't really trained to do. 

3. The Importance of Routine & Responsibility... which is something as a personal with a mental illness can be a struggle for me. Taking care of a dog requires regular feeding, exercise, and vet care. Being financial capable of caring for them is a huge thing to consider before bringing a dog into your life.
