Indeed!  I love the ocean but I’m terrified of tidal waves 🌊!  Even just regular storms must be frightening!  Well, it’s late but I should have time later to catch up!  Be well!🐈🐈🐈🐕

I never thought about tsunamis,  but I basically grew up a half mile from the ocean for a good part of my childhood.  I remember one time,  my mom and stepfather had a turbulent relationship,  and they had split up, it was the middle of winter, and winter in a beach town is so different. ... but a friend of my moms loaned her (us, it was myself,  mama, and my younger brother) their beach house,  and this place was right on the ocean,  on a part of the island that didn't have a huge amount of sandy beach between the house and the ocean, in fact,  at high tide, there was no beach,  just a breakwater of sorts, of huge granite stones. Anyway,  during this time,  a huge storm hit, and we all three sat a couple of feet away from a huge window overlooking the stormy, grey ocean... and we sat there for hours... the 3 of us, content to watch that window,  as if it were the most riveting TV show on earth! 

And you weren’t scared?  We went to Lake Superior to a cabin on the water when I was a kid, and I think it was the storm there that started my fear, the waves were so close!!  Then I was given Pearl SBuck’s book The Big Wave— I was too scared to read it, but the cover art got to me!  I ve seen waves that splashed to the very top of a light house— the Pacific is much more prone to tidal waves than the Atlantic or the Gulf. When we go to the coast we stay at a place that is way up high— great view, but no sense of being too vulnerable. Nicky loves the beach,but we have sneaker waves, so I worry about him, he’s so short!  Sent you an email! 🌊💦🌊
