The Markets of Arista

The city of Arista was the perfect amalgam of past and present, of ancient traditions practiced for millennia and the ever-advancing wonders of technology, and there was no better example of this fusion than the sprawling marketplace which lined the brick paved streets.

Under the gentle fluttering of blue and orange canvas, the market sang with the voices of a dozen species and the steady thrum of footfalls day and night. It was the beating heart of this city, and not once did its melodic rhythm ever tire.

As a young murid who grew up within that endless rhythm, Mika was no stranger to the markets, yet she never ceased to be amazed by what await around every corner and beneath every stall. Vendors’ shouts filled the air with temptations of treasures, deals, and wonders of a lifetime. Although she would have loved to be whisked away by their enticing offers, she could not allow herself to be distracted.
