You almost certainly know someone who was abused as a child. My cPTSD comes directly from the abuse I experienced. 

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 13 boys worldwide have experienced some form of sexual abuse before the age of 18.

A 2017 study published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States found that approximately 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys experience sexual abuse during childhood.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) reports that 90% of child sexual abuse victims know their perpetrator, with many abusers being family members, acquaintances, or trusted individuals in positions of power.

It’s important to note that many cases go unreported, so these statistics may not fully reflect the prevalence of child sexual abuse. This highlight the urgency of addressing this issue through education, support services, and strong legal frameworks to protect children.
