Night, sea, Davy the robot and me

I hurried to the beach where I had first met him. He was indeed there, sitting on the beach, looking at the horizon and throwing small stones into the water. Not a single smile crossed his face. "Davey," I approached him with relief, "I was worried about you." He didn't answer, didn't even look at me. "Davey," I sat down next to him and put a hand on his shoulder, "Let's go home." He removed my hand from his shoulder. "This isn't my house," he said, "and you don't want me. You were a member of that society." I sighed. "True, I was a member of that society." He was silent. So was I. We both sat and threw stones into the water. "Davey," I whispered to him when the time on my watch was already showing almost midnight, "Let's go back, it's late."
