I can just picture him and his flock moving across the plains in a strange, but elegant insect-like way

When the High-Legged turtle was first sootted by the Herecliscis, a deep space exploration ship, the Captain was reminded of his pet turtle growing up. Unfortunately, neither the Captain nor the crew had any idea about the animals intelligence. It was quickly discovered how fast they could move. That it had a voracious appetite, and very few things weren't on the menu. But nobody could expect how fast they learned. It had taken less than 30 hours for 4 collected specimens to escape and take over the ship. Now the entire crew had been consumed and the animals were flying back to earth 2.5 to assumably eat everything there. Only the captain survived at present. Locked in this watercloset, slowly bleeding out. He smirked to himself, "the damn things look so much like my pet turtle. And now I have doomed the human race."

The shell would pulsating the colors according to what type of food the HL turtle was looking for. Slow, well I guess it is not as fast as a comet screaming through the sky, we did clock one are 200 KMs per hour, dodging and weaving as it he was bored with the speed.... Favorite snacks....shoes, like space boots, flip flops, tennis shoes.....shoes...and marshmallows....
