My mother was a couturier and so I was exposed to the art and craft of dressmaking at a very young age. She mainly made clothes for women, though. My young gay mind would wander to the enigmatic and virile men in the catalogues. Later, I would collect GQ, Details, Esquire, Vanity Fair and other mags. These would set my taste and my standards for years to come.
Creating the Kimono series has been very fulfilling. I very much enjoyed the last three days spent imagining, creating, and connecting.
