I think it was something on the history channel or something. Upon googling it, it was very similar possibly the very same "Gate to hell" of which tunnels/caves had carbon dioxide pouring out of becoming fatal to all those near it. Found it fascinating enough to be inspired to make something that aligned albiet with a different aesthetic.

I love watching those programs too. And I especially enjoy the more natural scientific explanations to all the folklores out there. 😁

I remember hearing something about some tunnels that would end the lives of whatever drank nearby or entered. So much so people thought it was dark magic or something and stayed away. The scientific reasoning was that there were gases in the caves that were contaminating the rivers nearby too. Kind of grim, not my inspiration by any means but definitely what came to mind when I saw the outcome of this image!
