The image I used in this creation is a photo I took of Seward Johnson's sculpture God Bless America. It is based on Grant Wood's American Gothic, which I'm sure is no surprise. The title of my creation comes from Fred Rogers of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood fame (which I watched almost religiously as a kid). Here's the quote: "Often when you think you're at the end of something, you're at the beginning of something else." And so I imagine the couple in my creation have both recently retired, and they are just about to leave on a road trip across the United States.
